August 13, 200410:59amRest in peace, and "Bon Apetite," Julie Child, aged 91 years and 360 days. In other news my grandma is back in the hospital with a shattered knee. And I've been released to return to work, still in a cast - which makes for interesting driving habits. Thank God there's no rain in the forecast. August 4, 200412:30amKontakt Player Gold has arrived. It sounds really nice through Sibelius, although I need to bump the volume on my speakers now. Some day when I can get down onto the ground and have some assurance of being able to get back up without undue stress on my ankle. August 1, 20046:30pmMy wonderful "new" computer of about a year in age, does not have a game port built-in. This is the first computer I've ever owned where I've wanted to use the "built-in MIDI in the gameport" functionality and discovered that it is not present. Every other computer that I've had with a gameport on the soundcard, I've not used for connecting to a computer via MIDI. Go figure! $39.00 later and J&R music world, via Amazon.com, is shipping to me a USB/MIDI adapter. I note with dry wit that the latest editions of my P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard ships with gameport adapter built-in. |
